NEIGHBORS SEEK MEN 10 ENTER * BOWMAN NOME * Armed With Guns and Clubs, They Scour Vicinity— One Arrest. Armed with puns and clubs the entire neighborhood is making an effort to track down two men, who, Tuesday, forced entrance to tho home of Mrs. Freda Bowman, 22, of 3701 W. Twelfth St., threatened to attack and kill her, and abused her 14-montha-old baby. They have been seen skulking about since then, neighbors declare, Police have been called repeatedly. Claude Moss, who lives in the other half of the double house occupied by the Bowman family, and Franlt Wiseman, Ohio Hotel, friend of the Bowmans, caught a man sleeping in tlie barn of Chester Sedan, 1219 N. Alton St. The two men were part of a posse searching the neighborhood Wednesday night and this morning, after a trio, two of whom Mrs. Bowman believed were the men who entered her home, were reported In that vicinity. Turned over to police, the man gave his name as Pat Clark, 56, 417 Concord St. Ills landlady at that address said that he had not been homo for a week. Mrs. BowmanJ however, declared that he was nos one of the men sought. * Police emergency squad, under direction of Lieut. Fred Winkler, went ot the neighborhood when the trio were first sighted Wednesday night. Aided by neighbors, they searched every vacant house, thinking the men may have taken refuge from the rain. The hunt was fruitless. Throughout the night, Hezzle Bowman, the woman's husband, Moss and others kept watch. They reported seeing the men behind a bush during lightning flashes. Later a pile of partially burned paper was found next to the barn in the rear of the Bowman home. It Is thought that an effort was made to burn the barn down, but rain spoiled the plan.
