LISTEN TO PLEA OF TYPOTHETAE FOR NEW SCHOOL Board Favors Building if Their Tax Levy Is Sustained. United Typothetae of America School of Printing at Technical High School will remain in Indianapolis, the school board promised A. M. Glossbrenner, who made a plea for the school at the regular board meeting Tuesday night. The tentative 1927 school levy of $1.09 was fromally accepted. Proposal to reduce the tax levy 6.25 cents by postponement of'a part of repair program and elimination of some proposed improvements, made by Leonard V. Harrison, Chamber of Commerce civic expert, at the public hearing Monday, was ignored. Will Provide Building President Theodore F. Vonnegut promised Glossbrenner the board would provide adequate building facilities for the printing school, citing a $700,000 item for the Technical improvements. Established twenty years, the school has outgrown its present building and will likely be located in another city if new quarters are not provided, Glossbrenner stated. The item for the structure might be cut by the State tax board, if an appeal is taken, board members stated, but such action was not considered probable. Commissioner Charles W. Kern declared it impossible to build the printing building and save the school for Indianapolis if the Chamber recommendation to eliminate the s7(jo,000 flgure was accepted. Glossbrenner pointed out the worth of the school, which has $250,000 equipment and 2,000 graduates. The school is one of the most unique institutions in the United States. There never has been a contract between the Typothetae and school officials. Ranking first class, the school is pioneer among 2,000 printing schools in North America. Board Ready to Build Kern assured Glossbrenner the board was ready to start work on the new structure if assured the budget would not be cut by the tax board. Glossbrenner will go to Detroit, Oct. 16, to report the attitude of school officials at the Typothetae convention. Commissioners declared all items in the budget essential to efficient According to martin M. Hug?, hoard attorney, the levy will be_ certified to the county auditor, subject to revision if an appeal is filed. Thought Asthma Would Smother Her Another Indianapolis Woman Reports Trouble Gone.
