TRIBUTE IS PAID THEODORE STEELE ■ AT CHURCH HERE \ Dr. Frank Wicks honors Late Hoosier Artist at Service. The memory of the late Theodore Steele, Hoosier artist, was honored Sunday at All Souls Unitarian Church. Pastor Dr. F. S. C. Wicks gave an interpretation of the artist’s character while other intimate friends discussed his life. “The more profoundly religious a man is the less he talks about it. I would define Steele's religion as a reaching toward thp infinite along the path of beauty,” said Dr. Wicks. “There was an entry in his diary in which he says that he felt the universal spirit breathing on his. That was his religion, the universal spirit breathing on his.” Other speakers at the memorial service were J. Arthur McLean, John Herron Art Institute director, and Carl Lieber, a personal friend. * FIVE CHURCHES DEDICATED Denominational leaders Conduct Opening Services. Five churches were formally dedicated in Indianapolis and vicinity Sunday. They were Irvington M. E.; Little Flower Catholic Church; First Moravian Church; Ben Davis Chrlstain Church and Garden City Christain Church. Denomination leaders participated in the services at the various churches. OWE DEBT TO CHRIST Greater Support of Kingdom Urged by the Rev. Mc^lanahan. Christians owe a huge debt to Christ, declared H. B. McClanahan, Emmanuel Baptist Church pastor, at Sunday services. “We talk about the weather" and nearly everything else, so let us talk more about the Kingdom of God *to those about us,” the Rev, Mr. McClanahan said. “And the more we give to the support of the work of the church, the greater blessing will come to us.” You will marvel at the array of deliciously prepared foods at White Cafeteria “On the Circle.** As always—odd penny prices.
