FLASHLIGHT MAY ■ , SOLVEHALL CASE Churctifnan Admits He Recognized One. Bn United Press SOMERVILLE, N. J., Sept. 11.— A flashlight, turned on the scene of the Hall-Mills murder under a crab-apple tree on the Phillips farm near New Brunswick, was believed to be the key to the solution of the four-year-old mystery. Ralph V. Gorsline, vestryman in the church of the Rev. Edward W. Hall, who was found murdered with Mrs. Eleanor Mills, choir linger, was reported to have admitted that he recognized at least one of the participants in the murder when he turned on his flashlight after hearing shots and screams in RuSsey’s lane. Fair officials had set 250,000 paid admissions as the goal, but will be satisfied with the smaller total, considering the decidedly unpleasant weather on two days. More than $135,000 in awards have been distributed this year, $40,000 to winners in the Grand Circuit racing events. Indianapolis turned out in a body Friday night at the Horso Show in the Coliseum, which marked 1 1 the dose of a wide range of activities on Indianapolis day. The huge Coliseum was completely filled. An Indianapolis horse, Chestnut Twig, owned by Howard J. Lacy, won sixth prize of S7O. Other Indianapolis horses winning prizes: Seaton Secftet, owned by Mrs. Robert E. Trimble, second prize for best heavy harness horse over 15.2 hands high. Collegiate, owned 'by McCutcheon Gregory, first; Miss Bob Back, oiVned by Mr. and Mrs. George M. Bailey, second; Rosso King, owned by Howard J. Lacy, third; The Character, owned by William F. Nelson & Son, fourth, in lady’s saddle horse, three gaits. The Character, third, in mare,or gelding over 15 hands and not over 15.2, three gaits, and Rosso King, fourth.

Bv Vnifmd Press LOGANSPORT, Ind., Sept. 11.—A murder verdict was returned today by Deputy Coroner Bushjan in the death of Joseph McNulty, 24, of Pine Bluff, Ark. McNulty’s body was found .near the tracks of the Wabash railroad and it was at first believed he was Killed by a train. Investigation revealed two bullet holes in his side. Robbery was believed the motive.
