WOMAN DIES TWICE \ “Death by Misadventure” Is Coroner’s Verdiet. Bit United Press LONDON, Aug. 27.—“ Death by misadventure” was a coroner’s verdict here recently upon the final demise of a woman who *was brought back to life after “dying” once and who had lived in a coma for nearly thirty hours. The woman was admitted to a local hospital and attending surgeons decided to operate upon her immediately. While the anaesthetic was being administered her heart ceased to beat and she had every appearance of being dead. Artificial respiration was resorted to and after more than fifteen minutes of massaging her heart, the woman regained a life-like appearance. She remained in this state, barely breathing, more than a day before she finally “died.” PEPPERMINT OIL QUIET .NEW YORK, Aug. 27.—Buying of peppermint oil is along rather quiet lines. Consumers are not purchasing more than they require for immediate use. The result has been a quiet market. The country is trying to hold prices up, but has>only been partially successful in this effort. Natural oil was quoted $t $lO to $10.50 a pound, while redistilled brought $10.75@11 a pound.

Moreover, sentiment regarding the money situation was strengthened by the constructive showing of the local Federal Reserve Bank’s weekly statement. Although this report set forth no noteworthy im4*rovement over the preceding week it did not include sevefal million dollars In gold which the Bank of England had shipped here via Australia. Obviously there was no other reason to send this metal than to finance Britain's commodity purchases In this ceuntry durfng the autumn months and consequently It soon will find its way into commercial channels:

In the Cotton Market
(By Thomson & McKmnon) NEW YORK. Aug. 274 M am Aecidely optimistic on cotton. I think the fabric out of which the present market is maoe is strong enough to stand the wear and tear of professional operations. Snorts hare been run out of the market to a large extent.
In the Sugar Market
(Bv Thomson & McKinnon) NEW YORK. Aug. 27.—A, renewal of buying of Cubaa by the United Kingdom and Far East is reported, and. although the quanffties mentioned are small, some fake the view that demand from these sources will shortly have more of an effect upon cost and freight sugars. The futures market this week has undergone a readjustment incident to the developments in the September contract. Some-let-down in activity is to be looked for. but so far as the price situation in the distant months Is concerned. I believe a cheerful view is warranted.
