ADMIRAL HEADS SREECE AFTER MILITARY COUP Paiigalos Government Is Overthrown by General — Ex-Leader Held. Bu United Press ATHENS, Aug. 23.—Admiral Paul Coudouriotls has accepted the presidency of Greece after a successful revolution in which the Army and Navy, under the leadership of General Georges Condylis overthrew the, Pangalos government. Arriving in Athens Sunday night, Coudouriotls, ousted from the presidency in the revolt which raised Pangalos to power, received the following message from Condylis: "I have the honor to inform you with emotion that the armed forces have abolished the evil tyranny which has been existing. I offer respect to the legitimate president of the republic and pray tlpa t you will assume the supreme magistracy which you held so worthily and so gloriously, for so long a time and by the will of the people." Condylis announced that Salonika had recognized the new government. Pangalos, who had controlled Greece for fifteen , months, was ( taken prisoner and isolated in the military hospital at Athens. He had been spending a vacation at the island of Spatsae. when Condylis, formec minister of the interior, flew to the island to place him under arrest. Pangalos escaped, however, fleeing on a destroyer on which he had come to the island. He was pursued ‘by another vessel, manned by revolutionary forces, and his ship surrendered. Illinois St., equipped to handle a larger trade and an enlarged stock of automobile equipment, is attracting unusual business, according to Maurice Marcus, proprietor. Demands for enlarged space some time ago made it necessary' to build a large modern warehouse, and with the remodeling of the front of the. store facilities are much improved In waiting on customers, Marcus said. McMillen’s company makes a specialty of exterminating all types of cockroaches, rats, mice, flies, insects and pests. He sells several types of powders and specializes in the use of hydrocyanic gas for exterminating vermin.
