TWO FROM HERE PERISH IN WATER Girl Drowns South of City; Boy Near Galveston, Ind. Two Indianapolis youna: persons lost their lives Wednesday by drowning. Miss Thelma Jones, 17. of near Greenwood, drowned when she stepped into a deep hole in a gravel pit In Lick Creek at Bixler Rd. and Hanna Ave., south of the city. Frank Tutterlotv, Route O, Box 286, leaped into the water fully clothed and brought out her body but efforts to revive her failed. Carl Parsons, 14, of 1210 S. Talbott St., was drowned in a gravel pit on a farpt near Galveston, Ind. Two hoy companions warned the youth not to go in the deep water. His companions were unable to rescue him. The body was recovered about two hours later. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Parsons, the iad’e parents, have gone to Galveston. where services will he held at an uncle's home on Friday. Burial will be there. Va., was a smoldering ruin today following an ex 'plosion which detonated a. billion rounds of revolver and rifle ammunition stored there. Several were suffering temporary partial blindness, however, as a result of the brilliant flashes of exploding powder. Lightning was blamed for the explosion.
