.HOOVER WILL NOT STANDARDIZE HIS VACATION TOURS l Trips Practically Unmapped —Plans for Lots of Fishing. Times Washinoton Bureau, 1.122 \rio York Avenue 'WASHINGTON, Aug. 13.—There will be no standardization in Secretary of Commerce Hoover's trip west. World’s champion he started out today for a month's fling at the open spaces, apparently not knowing fully where he was headed for nor just how he would get there. His trip is considered in Washington as politically important, Hoover having been mentioned frequently of late as a Republican presidential policy. Main objective of the trip, according to Hoover, is Seattle, where he will speak Aug. 21. He will also speak at Hammond, Ind., Aug. 14 and In Caldwell, Idaho, Aug. 17. He will be in California late in September, after the primaries. The rest of the trip is unmapped, his office announced. How Many Suits B How many suits, shirts, shoes and socks the great standardizer will take with him is also undecided, his ■ office declared. “He's leaving that to his valet,” was the explanation. Other questions and answers interesting from a standardization standpoint were: ‘‘What will he eat for breakfast Sept. 1?” ‘‘Oh, the secretary never knows what he will eat until he looks at the menu.” ‘‘Does he know the railroads he will travel on?” ‘‘The full details of the trip aren’t arranged at this time." Nothing Ready "Are his speeches already prepared?" "Nothing is ready to be given out now." "Does he know- what hotels he will stop at in each city and what his room number will be in each hotel." “Oh, no. He merely wires for accommodations like anyone else.” "Will he carry simplified and standardized luggage?" / "Say, you've got the secretary all wrong. He believes in standardizing business practices, but well, he’s even planning to do a lot of fishing on this trip." "What , size fish? Pike or pickerel?" No answer.
