STATE ROAD ONE 'CLOSED BECAUSE OF REPAIR WORK Stretch Between Columbus and Franklin Is Torn Up. State Road 1 is virtually closed between Columbus and Franklin due to paving and the detour around this construction is poor and narrow in many places, it was pointed out in the State highway commisson’s traffic bulletin issued today. The paving projects are between Columbus and Taylorsville and from two miles north of Edinburg to Franklin. Northbound traffic from Columbus is detouring at the corner of Jefferson and Third in Columbus, and south-bound traffic at one mile west of Taylorsville. Road 15 was closed this week from Deer Creek to the end of the pavement south of Logansport, and Road 39 is closed between Rushville and Arlington. A detour is marked for local traffic, but'lndianapolis bound traffic on this road is advised to go north from Rushville on Road 36 to the National Road at Dunreith, thence west on Road 3. Y., July 23.—The terribly crushed bodijyj of seven women and three children lie in the Nyack Hospital morgue, killed In the crash of a heavy motor bus loaded with fifty-one members of the Mothers’ Club of Plum Beach, Ridgewood, Brooklyn. Thevehicle overturned on Thursday night on a steep grade at Sparkhill, Rockland County, N. Y., as the party was returning from an excursion to Bear Mountain. Twentyfive seriously injured are In the Nyack Hospital and sixteen with minor injuries were taken home. . Two of the Injured In the hospital here may die. Daniel J., Lastro, driver and owner of the bus, is held without ball on a charge of manslaughter. A bursted brake band is believed the cause of the accident.
