MALAGA GRAPES ARE PLENTIFUL Spring Ducks Retailing at 50 Cents a Pound. Malaga grapes, selling at 10 to 20 cents a pound, were seen in abundance today on city market stands. Thompson seedless grapes, priced at 10 to 15 cents a pound, were plentiful. In the poultry department, spring ducks at 50 cents a pound, made their initial appearance. Home grown pickles, quoted at $1.25 to $2 were on many stands. Home grown indoor tomatoes were higher at 25 cents a pound and the outdoor variety was also higher at 15 to 20 cents a pound. Other prices included: Squabs, 75 cents each: frys, 55 cents a pound: hens, 45 scents a pound; wax beans, 15 cents a pound; green- beans, 10 to 15 cents a pound; grapefruit, 15 cents each; small sugar pears, 10 cents a pound; Bartlett pears, 10 Ur 15 cents a head; pineapples, 30 cents each; black raspberries, 30 cents a quart; red raspberries, 2d cents a pint, and long, green watermelons, 90' cents to $1.15 each. , In spite of hot weather, lemon prices were unchanged at 20 to 40 ceifts a dozm; limes, 50 cents a dozen; home-grown cherries, 20 cents a quart; California and Michigan cherries, 40 cents a pound, and peaches 10 cents a pound. A conference of ministers of Marion County's thirty-six Christian churches this afternoon and an evangelical service tonight comprised program of the Fairview Christian Assembly at Fairview Park today. SAYS BUILDING CONDITIONS ARE GROWING BETTER Savings Association Head Declares Increase in Loan Applications. Present conditions in home building in Indianapolis are good, according to W. T. Cannon, president of the Railroadmen's Building and Savings Association, 21-23 Virginia Ave. With increases in the number of applications for loans with his company. Cannon expressed a conviction the employment situation in Indianapolis is better. "We find that building conditions are better now and that the employment situation Is improved,” he said. “Indianapolis is a city of homes and that means a more steady financial condition generally speaking. We ought to be proud of the number of persons svho own their own homes in this city. When a person has a personal Interest in a home, he is more attached to his city. That is true of Indianapolis. More and more we are developing as a city of homes. "A majority of the applications for loans made with our association are for what I would term medium priced homes, more of the,3vorking man's home. Most of the applications cover houses of four or five rooms.
