GROUND PURCHASE TO BE STUDIED County Council Will Pass on School Site. County council will meet Aug. 9 to consider the purchase of ground east of the Negro Orphans’ Home. Keystone Ave. and Twenty-Fifth St., for the erection of a grade school. School will be for inmates of the home and Negro children living in the, neighborhood. Heretofore children have been compelled to attend classes in portable structures. The city school board will pay the cost of construction as well as Barrett law assessments against the property. County commissioners have an option on the land.
