CORN BELT FIGHT HAS JUST BEGUN, LEADERSDECLARE Hot Scrap in Short Session of December Congress Being Planned. By Roscoe B. Fleming, Times (Staff Corresvondcnt WASHINGTON, July 16.—The corn belt farm leaders have just begun to fight, despite the failure of their relief bills In both House and Senate. They promise a hot scrap In the short session of Congress beginning in December. Although plans have not been formulated yet, they may concentrate on a revision of the present tariff schedules. Senator McNary of Qreg/n, who will be chairman of the Senate Agricultural Committee next session, has been notified that the farm leaders will meet in Des Moines, lowa, about July 20 to lay plans for a fresh offensive. He was asked to come to Chicago for a preliminary conference. The latter, signed by Chester C. Davis of Chicago, said that the farm leaders planned to give active help to Senators who voted for the McNary bill last session and are yet to face primaries. TICKET SALE INCREASE 50 Per Cent More Sold Than for Last Boy Scout Lawn Fete. The committee in charge of the fourth lawn fete to be given by Boy Scout Troop 69, at Thirty-Fourth and Capitol Ave., on the night of July 24, reports that ticket sales turned in at a special meeting showed that 50 per cent more tickets had been sold this year than in the corresponding period last year. Twelve boys who had sold fifteen or more tickets in the preceding four days were given an ice cream feed by others of the troop.
