FLETCHER LOAN HEAD STRESSED VALUE£ THRIFT Systematic Saving Will Enable Person to Own Home, Says Yoke. Systematic saving will enable any one to own his own home, according to Charles R. Yoke, president of the Fletcher Avenue Savings and Loan Association, 10 E. Market St. As one of the t)est established savings and loan companies of Indianapolis, the Fletcher Avenue Saving and Loan Association has made great strides in its development over, a period of thirty-five years. Located in the "heart of the business district,” the company is one of the most progressive of the savings and loan associatiom of Indianapolis. “Young men should so *rn the habit of systematic savings,” said Yoke. “A fixed amount added to an account each month eventually means a nest-egg. In ten years, if only $1 a month is saved, it will mean an accumulation of $164.04. Figuring on a basis of $lO a month, which is systematically saved, a young man will have $1,640.43, with dividends at 6 per cent compo tnded semi-an-nually." Yoke insisted that children should be taught the value of thrift in order to encourage them as they grow older and realize the value of investments. The Fletcher Avenue Savings and Loan Association has enjoyed a prosperous year and expects to close 1926 with considerable added increases in business volume over 1925.
BIG DEMAND FOR CAMP EQUIPMENT, DECLARES DEALER Demands for camp equipment are strong at this season indicating a large number of city folks are making plans or are participating in the road, pilgrimages of vacations, according to W. H. Thorp of The Thorp Awning Shoppe, 2407 College Ave. A special feature of th company’s line of camping equipment has been the Bed-room tent, a specially-built tent, giving more floor space than the average tent. This "-tent, he said, is made of water-proof drill a)id can be put up and taken down In five minutes. It weights fifty pounds. With a folding pole and metal -stakes, convenience in packing the tent, he explained, has tnade it especially attractive to automobilists on vacation trips. • “When calls are made f°* camp equipment as they have been made this year, we are certain of an increased tendency on the part of persons in this city and elsewhere to enjoy vacations on the road," said Thorp. • “There was a time when tents were bought largely because of demands for shows and stand owners. Occasionally parents bought tents for children, but now the demand shows a tendency on the part of automobile owners to obtain tents as a necessary part of equipment for vacation trips.” Thorp handles other camp equipment. Including cots, camp stoves, folding tables and chairs. Only tested lines are goods are kept in stock by his company, he said, and all camping goods are guaranteed. The company enjoyed a splendid awning business during the early summer months and a fairly good business in that department is being enjoyed at present, although most of the awning buying is done earlier in the season, he said.

BUILDINGS ARE TESTIMONIALS OF WORKMANSHIP Many prominent homes and buildings over the city and State are testimonials of the progressiveness and workmanship of Ralph R. Reeder & Sons, roofers and roof materials dealers. The new Irvington Methodist Episcopal Church, which is being completed and will be dedicated this fall, is one of the most recent roof jobs completed by Reeder. The church roof is of a combination of colored slate and was built for permanency as well as attractiveness. Reeder also has completed the roof of the new Greensburg Methodist Episcopal Church, the new shelter at Noblesville, the Baltimore Apt., Thirty-Sixth and Meridian Sts., and the Commodore Apts., Thirtieth and Meridian Sts. Thirty Years in Business “Thirty years In the roofing business is my best business .recommendation,” said Reeder. “My best business references are some of the jobs I have done twenty or twenty-five years- ago. We specialize in the best grades of roofing materials we can find, and guarantee all jobs we do. The mpdem types of shingles are much superior to the old wooden shingles. The wooden shingles that most firms are selling now will not last ten years, but we have found composition shingles to last twice that long. Handles Materials “Thomas Ivehon of the Mule-Hfde Company, dealer in the composition shingles which we sell and lay, was visiting me two weeks ago and he told me of celebrating their twenti-, oth anniversary in Chicago and of a job laid when they began business which was as good as the day It was put on." Reeder handies various grades of slate and tile roofing materials. He does sheet metal work.
