FIGURE WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE v Councilman Discusses Purchase of Water Company. Valuation of the Indianapolis Water Company, as fixed by the United States Supreme Court In the case pending before it, would be acceptable to city councilmen as the price for the city to pay to acquire the company, Boynton J. Moore, council president, said today. The city has appealed from the district Federal Court’s rate-making valuation of $20,000,000 .granted the water company. Moore said he would prepare statistics to prove that the citymvould - save money through acquisition of the plant and would be able to obtain complete ownership within a few years. A recent survey of water bills of the board of works alone during 1925 showed a total of $414,757.26, Moore pointed out. The park board, board of safety and board of sanitary commissioners also pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in water bills, according to Moore.
