DEADLOCK OVER RESOLUTION BN -MOTION Measure Urging Mayor to Arbitrate Lost in Council Meeting. / City councilmen were deadlocked Tuesday night on a resolution urging Mayor Duvall to arbitrate in the street car strike. * Councilman Otis E. Bartholomew led the forces opposed to the resolution through parliamentary bickerings. Councyman Walter R. Dorsett, who atmounced Tuesday he ■would sponsor a similar resolution, changed front and voted against the resolution which was introduced by Councilman Claude E. Negley. President Boynton J. Moore and Dr. Austin H. Todd also fined up in opposition on the final vote. However, Todd refused to vote on a motion■do table an amendment ■which waft adopted after introduction by Councilman Edwa?d B. Raub. The amendment changed the resolution to read that Duvall should “continue to maintain an impartial attitude” in the dispute. The original wording did not contain the word “continue.” Councilman O. Ray Albertson's refusal to vote killed the resolution. He contended he would vote for it with a few minor changes. “If we adopt the original wording, we would imply that the mayor has not adopted an' impartial attitude in the past with respect to this strike,” Raub said in defense of his amendment. Voting for the resolution were:, Raub and Councilmen Millard W. Ferguson, Robert E. Springstein and Negley.’

ended every pain that I had, and at the same time built up my whole system and now I feel fine in every way.” This remarkable statement was made only a few days ago by Mrs. Alvora Stewart, well known Indianapolis lady, living at Fourth and Franklin Streets, this city, while talking with The Konjola Man, who is explaining this surprising medicine to large crowds qpjly at Hook’s drug store, corner Pennsylvania and Market Streets, Indianapolis. “My whole body was a solid mass of aches and pains,” said Mrs. Stewart. "My shoulders and arms ached all the time, and my back and limbs had such terrible pains I thought I couldn’t, stand to live. My feet and ankles became swollen, and the cords and muscles~of my limbs would draw uj>, and my Ijands would swell •so I them up. All my joints were stiff and painful, and my f%et so swollen I couldn’t get my shoes on. I was nothing more than a cripple, and had to hold on to furnitu® to get around. ‘*My kidneys were disordered, and I was subject to rising# at night, and I had such awful distressed, burning' irritations in my bladder. The sharp pains across my back would keep me awake all hours of tjie night, and T was subject to dizzy spells during the day and black spots would appear cefore my eyes. “I believe my rheumatism and kidney troubles were just as bad as any one ever suffered, and that is , why I am glad to. tell my expe- ; rience with Konjola, for I know it ; is the only medicine thit actually ° ended my suffering and completely relieved me. It surprised all my • friends who see me walking around . like I do, and now the aches and pains are all gone from my limbs, . arms, shoulders and back. My ankles and feet arejnot swollen, and I- can close up my "hands. I do not have the awful burning from bladder trouble, and my kidneys are in almost perfect condition. lam subject to night rising only once or twice flow, and aside from this, I sleep fine the rest of the night. Konjola has . certainly conquered my rheumtaism and kidney troubles, and I will further state that I believe it is the - finest medicine in the world, and I only wish I could have gotten it years ago when I first began to suffer. It is a pleasure for me to indorse Konjola to every one.” The Konjola Man' is at Hook’s drug store, Pennsylvania and Market Streets, Indianapolis, where he is daily meeting the local public and introducing and explaining the merits of this remedy. Free samples given. Konjola is for sale by every Hook drug store in Indianapolis, and by druggists in all nearby towns j throughout this section. —Advertisement.
ARAB KILLS AIR PIONEER FOR ENGLISH Bullet Wounds Mechanic as Plane Flies Low to Escape Sand Storm. Bu United Press LONDON, July 7.—A. B. Elliott, who with Alan Cobham, the English aviatqr, has been pioneering-new air routes to llink the scattered units or the British Empire is dead in Basra, Irao, according to a dispatch received here today. The bullet of a wandering Arab caused Elliott's death* It at first had been believed that a gasoline feed pipe in the cabin of the 385 horsepower De Havlland plane had burst, causing Elliott's injury. The daily mail plants the following from Cobham today: “Closer inspection of the airplane revealed that the cause of Elliott's ■wounds was not a burst petrol pipe hut a bullet fired by/a wandering Arab when we were flying over a flooded swamp at an altitude of 50 feet. The bullet pierced the cabin wall, passed through the official mail bag and a packet of photographs and shattered the petrol pipe before piercing Elliott’s arm and entering hiAehest.” The accident occurred between Bushie and Bagdad during a stifling sand storm which had compelled Cobham to fly at a low altitude to escape the flying grit. Cobham hastened to Basra where Elliott was placed in the hospital in which he died. WOMEN TAKE POISON Neither Regarded As Being in Serious Condition. BUILDING NEWS OF INDIANAPOLIS
THIRTY-SIX YEARS OF SUCCESS BACK OF HARTBURNER Product Handled Exclusively Here by Vonnegut Hardware Firm. * Thirty-six years of successful machine manufacturing experience and an international reputation for excellence and financial integrity lies back of the Hart oil burner, handled exclusively inv Indianapolis by Vonnegut Hardware Company, according to Ralph Vonnegut firm member. The slogan boosting the sale of the Hart burner, “Home is where the Hart is,” summarizes the “selling talk" of the burner, Vonnegut pointed out. ✓ “The search for a solution of the. heating problem of this day is ended with the installation of a Hart oil bfirner,” said Vonnegut. Unit Control ‘This burner has a unit dontrol an exclusive feature, through the use of which each unit or working part, is caused to act in complete co-ordination with every other unit. No single part can function without the co-operative effort of all other par s. This makes for safety in the Hart oil burner and assures a homeowner that his house will not be burned down. “The burner has a, modern atomizing system by which fuel oil is burned satisfactorily, being mixed with proper proportion of air and burned in suspension in presence of a refractory surface. This process of atomization accomplished by mixing oil and air mechanically under pressure in a confined space and passing It through a Venturi, the result of which is a frothy mixture similiar to, but much finer than, everyday fog. This breaking up of fuel oil produces a degree of fineness that brings intense heat. There is no waste in this method of burning oil as combustion is complete without-carbonization, soot and dirt.” "" ■ . Economy Features The oil economy features of the Hart burner, Vonnegut said, the Hart principle of combustion, the elimination of complicated controls, the entire'* operation controlled by heat, accessibility of all parts, and the fact that no part of the burner is in the combustion chamber, have been factors that have contributed to the success ofVhe company in the sale and distribution of the burner. The company has handled the Hart oil burner for about six years and severe tests have proven its dependability, he said. The burner is listed as “standard" by the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., he said, burning fuel oil of 28 degree Baume test, a low-grade, *low-prlced fuel oil. Change from coal to oil heat by the Hart oil burner system can be made in five hours without disturbing household schedules, Vonnegut declared.
