MEET BEINGPLANNED Nationally Famous Speakers on Program at Crown Point. A grand patrotic and religious meeting for ail of northern Indiana will be held July 25, at the Lake County fair ground at Crown Point, when speakers of national and local prominence will make addresses and the host will gather for a great civic and spiritual upheaval ' entirely divorced from political or sectarian bias. James J. Davis, secretary of labor, will be the principal speaker of the day and United States Senators, Congressmen and Governor Jackson are among those who have promised to attend and make talks. While designed primarily as a Lake County affair, to which all the religious, civic, fraternal and labor organizations will be invited, the event will know no limitations and the people of Porter, La Porte, Jasper. Newton and other counties Rwiltbe asked to attend and parfccipate as well as the people of Lake Sponsored by Chamber Sponsored by the East Chicago Chamber of Commerce, the chambers of commerce in all the cities of the Calumet region, will be asked to carry the invitation all over northern Indiana. Arrangements are in the hands of an East Chicago committee which will delegate detail work to other committees to be named over the entire section, it was said today by William H. The.affair looms so large and the speakers are so well known that arrangements are being considered for broadcasting the program and at least two well known news reel moving picture concerns will have staff photographers on the ground to Jake animated pictures of the meeting. To Modify Plans Detailed plans are now in the making and will be modified to some degree by the desires of the different sections of the county and district, but the big features of the day are well in hand and there will be no disappointments in the program as finally completed, it was said today. The meeting will be patterned along the lines of a similar national meeting held in Washington where Secretary Davis spoke and where enduring lessons in patriotism and religious appeal were engendered. It is hoped to make this Northern Indiana patriotic and religious rally the largest .event of the kind ever held in Indiana and environs. Huge Crcqyd Certain Unusual arrangements are being made for caring for the huge crowd that appears certain to center in Crown Point on July 25. Hotel and restaurant accommodations will be taxed but most of the visitors will eat at the grounds where gasket lunches may be brought or meals obtained from special restaurants erected for the day. AUTO BODY WILL AID COMMISSION IN TRUCK PROBE A. A. A. Offers Resources fo r {Sweeping Bus Operation Investigation. Bu Times Sncclal WASHINGTON. D. C., June 30. The American Automobile Association, through its bus and truckMiivislon, has placed all its facilities and resources at the disposal of the Interstate commerce cojnmlssion for its coming nation-wide investigation of bus and truck operating conditions, it was announced today. The investigation is to be followed with recommendations to Congress on whether a law to regulate motor bus operation In Interstate commerce should be enacted. The commission issued the order for the Investigation on June 18, making Its scope great enough to insure a broad and searching survey of conditions in the rapidly growing industry throughout the country. Hearings are to be held in' thirteen cities, in each of which local conditions will be investigated thoroughly. With data compiled from these thirteen, sources, a hearing bearing upon

Local and State members of the bus division will send representatives, fortified with all the data at their command, to the hearings in their respective territories, and plans to insure their effective participation in the Investigation have been laid, it was stated. When the final hearing is held in Washington, a general summary of conditions in the entire industry will be presented by the bus operators.
