To encourage enlistments Congress voted to pay a bounty of flO to every noncommissioned officer and man who enlists for three years. Washington to Aid Another step to help save the Canada department was taken today in a resolution directing General Washington to give it whatever aid he can without imperiling the safety of New York. Washington has not made public what forces he intends to send. Purchase of the armed brig Catharine, now off the coast of Connecticut, was authorized today and a secret committee was directed to give the marine committee a ton of powder for her. Congress voted to grant the request of Mons. Antoine Felix Weibert that he be employed in the continental service and direct General Washington to use him where he may show his abilities. A special act granting, William Whitney S2O to return from Canada to his family at Norfolk, Conn., was approved. He was wounded in the service in Quebec. Berlin Not Alone in u All Alone” Charge Bu Timrt Bntctal NEW YORK. June 26.—Irving Berlin was not all alone when he wrote “All Alone,” according to Abe Brown, denizen of Tin Pan Alley. Abe charges that the sentiment which is popularly supposed to have won the heart and later the hand of Ellin Mackay, was not Berlin's at all. Suing in Federal Court, Abe charges Irving with theft. The latter dedicated “Ail Alone” to the heiress who later became his bride, but Brown, represented by Goldstein and Goldstein, claims to have written the song prior to Aug. 15, 1924, when It appeared under Berlin's signature. „ A fog in the Atlantic Ocean is usually about thirty miles in diameter.
