PILGRIMS START HOME; TRAINS AT * CHICAGO JAMMED All Avenues of Exits Are Thronged as Catholic Thousands Leave. Bn United Press CHICAGO, June 25. —Chicago’s j avenues of exit were jammed today as hosts of weary pilgrims to the twenty-eighth International EucharI Istlo Congress started homeward i journeys. Every outgoing railway train to- ' day was crowded with tired pilgrims, j who for five days have been here ! paying reverence to the Holy ! Eucharist. Within the next forty- ! eight hours the railroads expect to move several hundred thousands persons out of Chicago. A Success The Congress was a Sucess ; Eleven princes of the church, hordes of clergy, and thousands of ? laymen Joined today In praising the arrangements that for five days made Chicago and the peaceful little village of Mundelein, 111., the shrine of worship. Arrangements for handing the 1,000,000 pilgrims, the magnificence of the programs and the religious purposes carried out, all were praised by the outgoing churchmen. The only mar to perfection of the congress came in two episodes of i the final day’s ceremonials at Mundelein yesterday. The first was 'when a driving rain beat down on j the processional and the thousands of pilgrims who lined the roads lead- ' lng around the Lake of St. Mary’s, and the Becond in the traffic accidents as the one million pilgrims ! tried to weave out of the small village last night. 100 Hurt More than one hundred persons I were injured. However, none of the injured is jln dangerous condition, hospital authorities announced. Most of the ten princes of the church still here plan to remain in Chicago for several days, visiting over the Chicago arch-diocese. Cardinal Bonzano will go to St. Louis to dedicate the new cathedral. He probably will be accompanied by Patrick Cardinal O’Donnell, primate of Ireland; Cardinal Piffl of Austria, Cardinal Von Paulhaber of Germany, Cardinal Dubois of Paris and | Cardinal Mundelein of Chicago. Tomorrow Cardinals Piffl and Von j Faulhaber will go to Springfield, 111., i(.to attend a meeting of the Central | Vereln, an association of German- | Americans. Vincent P. King

The degree of Master of City Planning-Was awarded Vincent P. King,' 1045 E. Market St., by the graduate school of University Thursday. King, a graduate of Manual Training High School, received a degree from the University of Illinois, where he specialized in landscape gardening, in 1920 after study in the Ecole of Beaux Arts, Paris. For a time he was employed by the American Park Builders of Chicago. He will return to Indianapolis next week for a visit and then will tour Europe to study rebuilt French cities, the parks and boulevards of Paris, Hamburg. Berlin and Manchester, and to attend a world conference of city planners at Vienna in September. ROAD CONTRACT GIVEN The Day Construction Company of Franklin was awarded the contract for paving 6.613 miles of State Rd. 1, between Columbus and Taylorville, officials of the State highway commission announced today. The contract price on the job is $119,045.09. "

COURT GRANTS DELAYS Stays of execution have been granted two Indianapolis Negroes who were to have been electrocuted at the Indiana State Prison within the next few weeks. Supreme Court grantiing the delays so attorneys for the men might complete appeals. Wallace McCutcheon, convicted of the murder of John Ward and who was to have died Aug. 4, was granted a stay until Dec. 7, 1926. Roosevelt Hicks, sentenced to die July 5 for the murder of his wife, was allowed until Dec. 17.
