WIFE DIVORCES SONOFCULVER Youthful Romance Ends on Rocks at St. Louis. Bv United Press ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 18.—Following a hearing lasting approximately ten minutes, Mrs. Maxine Stressen Reuter Culver was granted a divorce from Gene Gordon Culver, son of the former head of the Culver Military Academy, in the court of domestic relations here. Mrs. Culver, who is 18, testified that she and Culver, 20, were secretly married in February, 1924, while she was attending Miss Bennett's school for girls at West Chester, N. Y. HUSBAND WANTED DIME An argument over a dime, between a husband and wife, resulted in a police emergency run to ISII Broadview Terrace, and the discovery that Mrs. Beatrice Lewis, Negro, had been cut on the arm. She had a small flesh wound she said was caused by a knife held by her husband, James Lewis, who became angered when she refused to give him a dime. She refused to prosecute him and police made no arrest.
