PRICES AT CITY MARKETLOWER Few Advances Noted Tomatoes, Cherries Cheaper. City market prices continued to So lower today. A few fruits and vegetables were higher because of the close of their season, but most of the prices showed a downward trend. Tomatoes were lower at 25 to 35 cents a pound, home-grown cherries, cheaper at 10 to 25 cents a quart and gooseberries were down at two quarts for 25' cents and 25 cents a quart. Honey dew melons were lower at 25 to 50 cents each. California cherries were slightly-cheaper at 40 to 50 cents a pound. ■ Home-grown red raspberries made their appearance at 35 cents a pint. Home, -grown cabbage was new at 8 cents a pound. Blackberries were plentiful at 25 to 20 cents a quart. Price advances were: Home-grown strawberries, 20 to 25 cents a quart; peas, 15 and 20 cents a pound and corn, 10 cents an ear. / Other prices included: Cucumbers, 15 cents', red and blue plums and apricots, 15 to 20 cents a pound; watermelons, $1.60; beets, two for 15 cents, cantaloupes, 15 to 20 cents: California rose potatoes, three pounds for 25 cents; Kentucky Wonder beans, 30 cents a pound; eggs v 35 to 38 cents a dozen, and butter, 53 cents a pound.

YOUNG WILL .FUNCTION Peter* Plans State Democratic Advisory Committee. Continuing the movement of youth that nominated Albert Stump, R. Earl Peters, Democratic State chairman,, announced Wedensday a special State advisory committee of young men will be named to function during the coming veampaign. Early in July Peters will assemble a general meeting of State candidates, the thirteen congressional nominees and the State committee at the Claypool. Democratic county headquarters will be opened the middle of July, Le Roy Keach, Democratic County chairman announced Friday. Keach soon wall announce selection of a treasurer of the county committee to succeed George Hilgemeier, who resigned. MAGAZINES COMBINED Bn Times Special NEW YORK, June 17.—Announcement was made today by S. R. Latshaw, president of the Butterick Publishing Company, that the two women's magazines, the Delineator and Designer, will be combined in one publication, known as Delineator. The change will take place with November issue, TO OPIN PAVING BIDS Sealed bids will be opened by the State highway commission July 7, on paving approximately five miles of State Rd. 15, between Deer Creek and a point about six miles south of Logansport.
