FT. WAYNE HIGH TAKES HONORS IN NEWSPAPER TEST Prize-Winning Schools Are Announced by Press l Association. Bu t/nited Press FRANKLIN, Ind., Juhe Is.—Winners In the annual contest of high school papers and year books were announced today by Dan Edkins, executive .secretary of the Indiana I Ugh School Press Association. The winning Jpublications were pic! -d by committees of judges, one for t. e yea)- Books and one for the papers, meeting at the office of the superintendent of public instruction in Indianapolis. Entrants in the newspaper contest were divided into two groups: Division one, weekly and semi-week- 1 \ly publications and Division two, monthly and semi-monthly papers. Three Other Divisions In the year book contest, there were three divisions; books from, schools with enrollments of' 700 or more, from schools with enrollments from 300 to 699, and from schools with enrollments under 300. * Ft. "Wayne scored heavily in the weekly and semi-weekly newspaper honors. The South Side Times, published at the South Side High School, Ft. Wayne, won first prize. The of Central HighJ. School, Ft; Wayne, was awarded third place. The Calumet Hdrald of Hammond High School was given "second place. Honorable Mention *■ Honorable mention in the weekly’ and semi-weekly division was given the following publication: The Peruvian. Peru; Centralian, Central High of Evansville; The School World, Huntington; The Peiyiant, Elkhart; The Rushlive, Rushville; The Purple and Gold, Sullivan; The Red and Blue, Kokomo; The HiTimes, Laporte, and th£ Survey, Marion. MURDER CASE REVIEWED Attorney Makes Arguments for Elmer~Pruitt of Edinburg. Arguments in the murder case appeal of Elmer (Babe) Pruitt, Edinburg, were made by defense Attorney L. Ert Slack before the State ; Supreme Court today. Pruitt was convicted-of shooting Ms counsin, Oscar Cutsinger, a rival dairyman, on an Edinburg ; street in December, 1924, in the j Bartholomew Circuit Court. He was I given a life sentence.
