BAPTIST YOUNG FOLK TO HOLD BIG RALLY HERE Evansville Pastor to Come to City to Make Chief Talk. The second Baptist young people’s rally of this year will be held at the First Baptist Church Tuesday night, June 15. These rallies bring together all the young people’s Societies in Marion County under the leadership of the Rev. Albert E. King, president. It is expected that not less than 800 young people will be in attendace. The Rev. J. F. Rake, the speaker, is the pastor of the First Baptist Church Qf Evansville, Ind., where he has during the past five years built one of the largest and most commodious Baptist churches in the State. It is a complete building, with exceptional educational' advantages. In evidence of the success of the pastor, the men’s class has grown to be the largest men’s Bible class in Indiana and some say in adjoining States. The new building which houses this great class was recently dedicated and cost SBO,OOO. Music will be furnished by Beldon Keonard and the Calvary Baptist male quartet. Between 3,000 and 4,000 delegates, the largest attendance In the association’s history, are expected. KIWANIS GROUP BACK Delegates Confident of Landing 1928 Convention for City. With a resolve to bring the Inter national Kiwanls Club convention to Indianapolis in 1928, most of the State’s delegates to the recent gathering in Montreal, Canada, have returned home. Although the Hoosier group failed to win the convention .for Indiana next year, delegates feel confident that the following year they will succeed. Many delegations pledged support in 1928. Memphis, Tenn., will be hosts in 1927.

THROUGH PACKAGE SERVICE IS GIVEN BY TRACTION FIRM [ 1 Beneficial to Shippers of Indianapolis and Other Points on System. Inscidental to the rapid increase in the freight business of the Union Traction Company of Indiana there has been an interesting development of the through package car service which has proven beneficial to the shippers of India napolis and other points on the Union Traction system, according to fyfr. Douge, local freight agent for the company. As one of the pioneers of electric railway freight transportation, the Union Traction Company was early in the field with through package cars between Indianapolis and all points on its own lines. This service was extended to Marion, Kokomo, Peru, AVabash. Bluffton. Portland, Union City. New Castle and many other points local to the Union Traction lines. AVithin recent years the popular Ity of the through package cars, in which shipments are handled to and from far distant points, has been capitalized upon by the Union Traction management to a far greater extent than ever before. Package cars now are operated between such distant points as Indianapolis and’ Detroit. Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Flint, Pontiac and other Michigan points; and between Indianapolis and Toledo, Lima, Cleveland and Akron. Shipments from points on the Union Traction system are j handled-in through package cars bei tween Muncie and Dayton and Springfield. Ohio. i in Indiana, these ears convey freight without transfer between Indianapolis and Huntington, Ft. Wayne. Auburn. South Bend. Elkhart, Warsaw, Goshen and many other cities. The Union Traction Company, Douge says, is always in position, with a few hours’ notice, to supply cars for through transit of carload shipments to practically any point on the electric railways of Indiana., Ohio or Michigan.

The new secret process, adopted by the company after more than three years experimentation before it was accepted and put into operation, is guaranteed to keep clothing moth-proof from the time clothing is treated until it is dry-cleaned. The process has been carefully tested, Gregg said, and has proved to be very satisfactory, meeting all requirements of tests. Ordinary methods of moth proofing clothing involve a wet process, he said. bu,t the new Gregg process is a dry method. Most wet mothproofing processes, he explained, injure the fabric of clothing in many instances, but the new dry process adopted by the Gregg company will not injure the most delicate fabric. ‘‘We are prepared to offer customers a moth-producing process that is certainly the most successful we have found developed by modern science to date, and it is proving to be very satisfactory,” Gregg,declared.
