LEGION PROPOSES ‘FIGHTJN OPEN’ Asks Soldjer Relief Bills Be Presented. The American Legion of Indiana has sent a challenge to Indiana Senators and Representatives in Congress “to fight in the open’’ and not “use unfair tactics to smother legislation by control of legislative machinery,” according to J. H. Klinger, adjutant. The Legion believes Congress is trying to delay passage of the Johnson and Fitzgerald bills and the Green bill, both relief measures for disabled soldiers, until the adjournment of the lawmaking body. “The Legion is confident these measures will be enacted speedily if brought to a vote and we emphatically condemn the use being made of parliamentary tactics to prevent ‘heir consideration in the House and Senate," said an open letter to Indiana Senators and Representatives.
