COOLiDGE FACES TEST IN 5 MORE STATE MARIES N. Dakota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma to Go to Polls. Bv Times Special CHICAGO, June 11.—Regular Republicans of the West, who have suffered serious losses in the senatorial primaries of lowa, Illinois, Indiana and South Dakota, are reminding the constituencies that sim/ ilar contests must be settled in five more Middle Western States before the November elections. And in these many of the same Administration policies are involved, so that any forecasting of a definite anti-Coolidge trend on the basis of present results may be premature. North Dakota Next , The next primary out this way takes place in North Dakota on June 30. There Senator Gerald Nye, the “boy” editor, who voted against the World Court, meets strong regular Republican opposition in the personality of former Governor D. B. Hanna, who is considered the Administration spokesman in the Northwest. A similar clash between Administration and anti-Administration policies comes to a head in the Wisconsin primary where Senator Irvine Lenroot runs against Governor John J. Blaine, a La Follette candidate. Lenroot has been described by the President as one of the most worthy statesmen in America. In Missouri , Aug. 3 brings elections in Missouri Kansas and Oklahoma. Senator George Williams, Missouri, although not a radical, broke away in the, World Court fight and voted against American adherence. He has made this the principal issue in his bid for renomination. Williams is opposed by David Proctor, who* has the indorsement of the regulars in Kansas City, and Blodgett Priest, a wet. In Kansas, Senator Charles Curtis, the whip of the upper house, sees no opposition in sight. He has deserted the Administration over farm relief and the unseating of Senator Brookhart of lowa, but is strictly regular in other matters and his renomination would not be regarded as a political upheaval. The Oklahoma situation is similar to the one in Kansas. Senator Herreld, who joined the “America First” forces in the Wofld Court fight, is up for reriomination and is given the edge to win. DENIED BY HIGH COURT Soft to Prevent Construction of Negro High School Fails. State Supreme Court has denied Archie Greathouse a rehearing of his unsuccessful suit to enjoin the Indianapolis school board ,from constructing the new high school for Negroes, now known as the Crispus Attacks School. Judge T. J. Moll of Superior Court Five first sustained the school board’s demurrer to the suit and an appeal was taken to the Appellate Court. The latter court failed to agree on the case and it w T as transferred to Supreme Court. Supreme Court recently decided ' against Greathouse.
