YELLOW STARTS HUGE COMPANY Drivurself Firm Backed by General Motors. The organization of anew $30,000,000 transportation enterprise by the Yellow Truck and Coach Manufacturing Company, backed by the General Motors Corporation, of which it it a subsidiary, was made public today by* John D. Hertz, chairman of the board of-the Yellow Company. It is proposed to increase the capital stock of the Yellow Truck and Coach Campany to provide $14,000,000 is to be made immediately available for the new enterprise.) The new firm is known as the Hertz Drivurself Corporation and will act as a holding company, controlling State and local Drivurself companies throughout the counthy. This is the first time in history that a transportation system has been offered to the public on a chaid store plan of operation. In the future it will be possible to secure a private car on a rental milage basis in any city in the United State, use it either for local or touring purposes and leave it in any other city where the individual renting the car my happen to be when through with the car. TO DEDICATE COLORS Christ Union Church Will Have Flag Day Services Sunday. A patriotic service including the dedication of a flag staff and colors as a memorial to members of Christ Church who served in the World War will mark the Flag day celebration at the church Sunday morning. Weber Milk Company by the Martin Truck Company of N. Capitol Ave.., local distributors of Stewart trucks. The trucks will be used exclusively for cottage cheese delivery in the city and country within a radius of fifty miles. The Weber Milk Company now operates a fleet of ten Stewart trucks. Walter P. Chrysler, president of the Chrysler Corporation, Detroit, Mich., who was an Indianapolis visitor Memorial day for the Speedway race and who visited the salesrooms of the Carl H. Wallerich Company, local distributors of Chrysler cars, took time while here to observe how Indianapolis is handling some of its traffic problems. He said he thought it was well handled. Synchronized traffic control as used here has proved practicable in other cities. In fact, without such control, traffic in many of the larger cities of the United States would be chaotic, he declared. During the four weeks ending May 29. retail deliveries of Dodge Brothers cars amounted to 37.660, according to information just received by F. L. Sanford local distributor of Dodge cars and Graham Motor Trucks. This was a substantial increase over the previous four weeks and a gain of 12.733 or 31 per cent over deliveries during Jhe four weeks ending May 30, 1923. Dealers in the United States alone have delivered 144.199 new Dodge Brothers Motor cars and Graham Brothers Trucks from Jan. 2 to May 29, 1926. a gain of 48 per cent over the record of 97.572 for the corresponding period last year. The Indianapolis Flint Company local factory branch of the Durant Motor Company has been discontinued. All Flint factory branches in the United States are to be closed within the next several months.
