For the benefit of asthma sufferers, Mr. Charles Dean, 91DV2 Virginia Ave., Indianapolis, Ind., tells how he got entirely rid of this stubborn disease. Mr. Dean says: “I began having asthma in 1912. Charlie Wey of Tennessee was in the barn busily engaged in planning a square sign board for his farm. For -he had decided the evening before to follow the lead of 3,000 other farmers in his State and name his farm home. The only smooth piece of lumber available was of the above irregular shape. Charlie is too economical to waste any of it. He knows that by sawing it into three pieces he can refit the parts and form a square. But it is also possible to saw the lumber into two pieces and make the same shaped figure. Can you show ’Charlie how this can be done? Last puzzle answer: The diary given to Ijllian Cannon contains 72 pages. The book is divided into four sections. 1 "Training” contains 14 pages. 2. "Diet” contains 18 pages. 3. “Amusements” contains 8 pages. 4. “Friends” contains 32 pages. If you add 2 pages to the first section, subtract 2 from the second, double the number in the third, and halve the number in the last, your result’ in each case will be 16. (14 plus 18 plus 8 plus 32 equal 72.) FIKK LOSS $49,800 Fires did 849.800 damage in Indianapolis in May, according to Fire Chief Jesse Hutsell's report to the board of safety today.
