PADEREWSKI 10 BE DONOR GOES! Legion Will Give Tribute Dinner for Pianist. James \V. Gerard of New York, former United States ambassador Germany; Rubin Goldmark of New York, well-known composer, and National Commander John R. McQulgrf of the American Region, will pay tribute to Ignace Jan Paderewski, world famous pianist and Polish statesman, at a national tribute dinner in honor of Paderewski in New York May 10, National Region Adjutant James F. Barton said today. The tributes will be a part of the program of the American Region’s national tribute to the famous pianist in appreciation of his contributions to tlie Region's endowment fund for disabled veterans and orphans of the World War. Raphael Diaz and Nannette Guilford of the Metropolitan opera will give a program of songs as the tribute from American musical artists to Paderewski, the musician. Hoosier Briefs John Quincy Adams, who died at Bloomington at ihe age of 95, was not a relative of the former President of the United States. The aged Bloomington man was a Negro. Twenty-five memoers of the Greensburg Band have ordered new uniforms und are polishing up their instruments and practicing at every opportunity.
