BILL TO PROVIDE SCHOOLDENTISTS Dr. H. C. McKittrick Writes Proposed Law. Indianapolis Stat<\ Dental Association. announced a bill to authorize the school authorities of the State to provide dental care for public school pupils has been prepared for presentation to the next Legislature. Dr. H. C. McKittrick of Indianapolis is the author. The bill will provide that any township trustee or school board may in his or its discretion appoint one or more school dentists for each school corporation. Their pay would Tie determined by the school authorities and their duties would be “to examine the teeth of school children at stated periods and to look after the cleaning, the extraction of teeth, the filling of cavities with plastic material where indicated, and to teach oral hygiene and other such dental care as will conserve the health and promote the efficiency of school children.” The school dentist shall he paid out of the special school fund. The bill will set out that unless the parent or guardian desires to have the dental work indicated done by another deitist, the child "shall lie entitled to such free dental service from such school dentist as is provided for In this act.” The bill provides further that if a child is found to be in need of dental service and if this service is not provided by the parent or guardian, it will be the duty of the school dentist to provide such treatment as is necessary and desirable at the earliest possible opportunity.

WILL HEAR PETITION Kelea.se of Wealthy Huntington Resident Sought. Officials of tho State pardon board fixed tho afternoon of May 20 to hoar a petition for the release of T. Guy Perfect, wealthy Huntington resident, who is now serving a prison sentence for a criminal attack upon a young woman. Perfect was committed only a few weeks ago after Supreme Court had refused him a retrial. A personal appeal to Governor Jackson by Perfect's friends failed. A petition for clemency bearing names of ministers and prominent citizens of both Huntington and Ft. Wayne lias been filed.
