LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY TO GIVE FINAL PLAYLET ‘Young People’ to Go on Air Friday Evening Over WFBM. The last playlet to be presented this season by the Little Theatre Society over WFBM, Merchants Heat and Light Company station, will go on the air Friday evening at 8 from the Indianapolis Athletic Club studio. It is entitled “Young People,” and will be read by Mrs. S. T. Boyer, Mrs. Lillian F. Hamilton, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Schofield and Miss Sarah Lauter. The “Goodness Gracious Greggorizers” and the “Voice of Gold” will broadcast Nieir regular weekly program from the Severin studio over WFBM this evening between 8:30 and 9:30. The total number of broadcasting stations April 1 was 529, according to records of the Department of Commerce. This is a decrease of sixty-two over the high mark of May, 1923, when there were 591 stations. According to reports to the Department. of Commerce, anew station, WEAR, is in operation at Sisish., Wis., on 207.1 meters .with 500 watts. Records show that this station has not even applied lor a license. Tw'o broadcasting stations were discontinued during the last month. They were KFVR, Denver, Colo., and KFXM, Beaumont, Texas. The call signal of WGWY, Minneapolis, has been changed to WDGY. The voice of President Coolidge again will be heard in American homes when, in connection with National Boy Scout week, he will make an address which will be broadcast over WEAF, New York and fourteen other stations Saturday May 1 at 6.15 p. m., central standard time. The United States Marine Band will also be heard, playing at the opening and closing of the program. Abe Lyman noted song writer and orchestra leader, who is playing a dance engagement with his orchestra at Riverside Dance Palace, will be heard over WFBM this evening at 7 when he will discuss the "Era of Syncopation” from the Athletic Club studio. Charles Kaley, caroling serenader with the Abe Lyman Brunswick Recording Orchestra, will sing several solos from the studio. This afternoon the entire orchestra attended the opening ball game of the season at Washington Park as guests of Walter Baker of the Brunswick Shop. AGENT NAMED C. F. Bigelow, passenger vepreentative for the Southern Railroad in Indianapolis, has been appointed district passenger agent at Lexington, Ky., it was announced today. Bigelow’s successor has not been named. .lORDAN NOMINATED Frank C. Jordan, secretary of the Indianapolis Water Company, has beeij nominated second vice president of the National Fire Protective Association, of which he is an executive committeemtn. The association will meet at Atlantic City, N J., May 10 to 13.

Big clowns and little clowns — clowns from many lands, clowns with funny faces and clowns with faces so sad they make yon laugh, are among the half hundred “Joeys” who make merry in the Sells-Floto circus rings. There is one who is 36 Vi Inches in height and another who is a six-footer. They will all be in Indianapolis when the show conies Friday. Bill Caress, famous clown policeman, is still with the gang. He was really once a policeman, by the way. Bill is shown above in one of the various inake-ups lie uses in the course of the clown program. One of the bright, features of the program is tile clown band which gives a complete concert of popular music as they believe it should be rendered. The circus exhibition tills year will be on the new lo f at Eighteenth St. and the Belt Railroad.
