CROSSTOWN BUS SERVICE TO BE STARTED SOON Permission Given Coach Company by Service Commission. Crosstown motor bus service on Thirtieth St., between Taggart Park and Sherman Dr. will be inaugurated within the next few days by the People's Motor Coach Company, it was announced today by A. Smith Bowman, president, following issuance of a public service commission order late Friday. The commission authorized Bowman to run a line east from Delaware and Thirtieth Sts. to Sherman Dr., but denied him an extension to the business district. The coach company will alter its Riverside route in order to join the Sherman Dr. spur, thus permitting crosstown service. Free transfers will be issued for through crosstown passage. The Indianapolis Street Railway Company was allowed to run a feeder line from College and Sutherland Aves. to Thirtv-Eighth St. and Keystone Ave., instead of a through bus line from the outlying terminal to the downtown district. The coach company was denied a route from Monument Circle to Thirty-Eigth St. and Keystone Ave., and the railway was denied a line from the Circle to Thirtieth St. and Sherman Dr. and an extension from Twenty-First and Rural Sts. to Brightwood.
