against Dr. Bundy are unwarranted. The townspeople generally are for him. He Is a clean, conscientious teacher of the truth. Will Cause Embarrassment Dr. C. Howard Taylor. College Avenue M. E. Church pastor, formerly of Indianapolis, declared: “It is regrettable, because the incident will cause embarrassment to more than one person. The conference action probably did not have back of it a full understanding of the facts. “The difficulty has arisen, not over the teachings of Dr. Bundy, but over what new students, eager to show their knowledge, have carried back home as his teachings. derstanding could have been settled if a committee had talked with Dr. Bundy.” “Most students would lose all confidence in De Pauw and the Methodist Church if Dr. Bundy were dismissed because of these unfounded charges,” said Glenn TV. Funk, a senior. “I have taken a course under Dr. Bundy and found nothing which would cause me to lose faith in Christianity, or the teachings of Jesus,” said J. Bruce Murr, a minister's son. “Most every student will defend Dr. Bundy’s views,” said Miss Helen Hopkins, student council vice president. “The council probably will not act.
because 'we don’t feel it is necessary,’ she said. Favorite Professor “Dr. Bundy is one of my favorite professors. Everyone expresses a feeling of disgust over many of the things being said against him,” said Miss Mary Elizabeth Plummer, student council vice president-elect. Robert C. Anderson, editor of The De Pauw, student newspaper, said: “The whole matter is disgusting to the student body. The persons who are fighting Professor Bundy are fifty years behind the times. Many declare his courses more valuable than any other in the institution.”
