PREPARATIONS FOR PAVING OF ,ROADS STARTED (Stale Highway 1 Closed From Just North of Peru to Mexico. Construction work preparatory to f pa.ving has started In several seo ! tions of the State, It was pointed out today in the State highway cornjniflslon’s traffic bulletin. Asa result of this activity State Rd. I is now closed from a point Just r rth of Peru to Mexioo, and a detour marked. It is the intention of the commission to pave RcL 1 between Peru and Plymouth this summer, and the entire section Is to be dosed within a short time. However, this should not greatly inconvenience traffic as there are numerous good county and several State goads in the locality. Bridge construction starts next Week at a point ten miles east of Richmond on Rd. 8 (National Rd-), Jut traffic, instead of detouring, will pee the traction bridge. Most gravel and stone surfaces that a week ago were soft and corrugated due to heavy rains, have responded to maintenance and nre again in shape to serve all traffic, field engineers reported.
