ADAMS ASSAILS ITALIAN PACT Quotes Mussolini in Slam at Watson. Bu Timm Rvrcial EVANSVILLE, Ind., April 14. Three speeches in Evansville were on the schedule today for ' Claris Adams, candidate for the Republican long-term senatorial nomination. Adams spoke at Boonville, Tuesday night and returned to this city to broadcast a radio address on “Agriculture.” At Boonville, Adams assailed the defenso of the Italian war debt settlement made by Senator Janies E. Watson in his keynote speech at Kokomo, Friday night. “Mussolini in a speech in Tripoli, said in substance that Italy is becoming more prosperous and more powerful daily,” Adams said. “If tills is true, then why should the United- States reduce by millions of dollars the Italian war debt? “My opponent said the Italian debt settlement represents all that Italy is actually able to pay. Yet the premier of Italy himself says that Italy is becoming more rich and powerful daily. Can it be Senator Watson is misinformed? Where is the force of the ‘great influence’ his enthusiastic managers would h ive the people lielieve he wields in the legislative halls in Washington ! n this important matter?”
