ROAD WIDTH IS IN DOUBT Extension Probably Will Follow County Unit Law. W. W. Southard, county engineer, today said it hardly would be possible for the county to construct the proposed roadway of the extension of Pall Creek Blvd., from Thirty-Eighth St. to Forty-Second St., any more than twenty-four feet wide, as provided under the county pr.it law. The proopsed pavement will connect with a roadway of greater width. Southard said the only way to get additional funds would be to use the fund for free gravel roads. However, Harry Dunn, county auditor, ■said the county receives only $29,000 annually from the State gasoline tax. This money is needed for the gravel roads, he said. Commissioners will receive bids April 26. Kirby Risk, Lafayette, trustee of Indiana School for the Deaf, and O. M. Pittenger, superintendent, have asked Dunn to recommend paving thirty-feet wide to the commissioners. ASK REPLIES ON AIRPORT PLANS Committee Sends Telegrams £ to Speedway Owners. Replies to letters sent Carl Fisher and James Allison, Indianapolis Speedway majority owners, by the airport board of the Chamber of Commerce, outlining plans for an airport at the Speedway, were asked today in telegrams sent to the two men, who are In Florida. Fisher and Allison said they would cooperate with the board. The board later sent letters asking free use of the north section of the Speedway and permission to establish the port within thirty days. Replies to these letters have not been received. Brig. Oen. Dwight E. Aultman, Ft. Benjamin Harrison commandant, spoke at a noon meeting of the committee at the Chamber of Commerce on the advantages and possibilities of establishing the proposed port at Schoen field. DEDICATE HALL TONIGHT Clothing Workers Will Open New Building at Once. Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America new auditorium. Capitol Ave. and Pratt St., will be formally opened tonight, Morrison Campbell, president of Local No. 115, announced. A dance will be held in the ballroom. The building was designed by George and Zimmerman, architects. Patsy Cammiere, president of directors, said the building for club and meeting purposes, marks an advance in labor circles. MAYOR TO BE ON DECK Duvall Will Accompany Indians to K. C. for Baseball Opener. Continuing his career as, a redhot baseball fan, Mayor Duvall will accompany the Indians to Kansas City for the opening game of the season. Duvall will leave Monday afternoon. ATTORNEY IS DROPPED William I*. Smith Struck From Supreme Court Roll. State Supreme Court today struck from the roll of attorneys permitted to practice in the court the name of William P. Smith, Washington, D. C., because of alleged fraudulent statements made in gaining admission to the court. Indianapolis Bar Association coina mitteo headed by Iloiner Elliott ■ found Smith had never been a resiindent of Indiana, as represented, it . Was said.
