FIDDLER FROM CITY IN MAINE Joseph Lawson Writes —In National Contest. Out in Lewiston, Me., the air is fairly blue these days. They’re having an Old Fiddlers’ contest which began April 5 and will last until April 12. The champion of Indianapolis, Joseph Lawson, 80. of 819 S. West St., winner in The Times contest neld in Tomlinson Hall, Feb. 25, is one of the fiddlers at Lewiston. Lawson made the trip there in his flivver, decorated with elaborate placards. A letter from him to The Times said that he was met by a reception committee and haij his picture taken standing by one of "the big bugs” of Lewiston. "They are fiddlers here from every part of the country,” said Lawson. "Some folks say they never would have believed there were so many in the world. There will 340 in the contest and some of them are so wonderful that I’m afraid that I can't get rosin enough on my bow to get anywhere with ’em.” A championship cup and SI,OOO are the prizes that have drawn so many fiddlers together. Local sponsors invited Lawson to make the trip, paying all his expenses while he is in Lewiston.

Robert Hutchinson. 21. of 309 Downey Ave., junior a* Butler University, and pastor of the Boggstown (Incl.) Presbyterian Church. Since obtaining the pastorate in September, through the aid of Dr. .1. Ambrose Dunkel of the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. Hutchinson has delivered a sermon each Sunday morning and evening and has built up the congregation to 150 persons. But Hutchinson does not neglect activities on the Butler campus. He participates in debating, dramatics and journalism, is a member of Sigma Chi, national social fraternity and Tau Kappa Alpha, national debating fraternity and managed the Dramatic Club's recent presentation of the play, "Tweedlcs.” He is a past master counselor of the Indian apolis Chapter, Order of De Molay,

and has served as secretary of that organization. Hutchinson is not certain whether or not he will follow the ministry as a life vocation. "But I am sure that the experience I have received as pastor of the Boggstown church will help me always." he said.
