Whitcomb, 3105 N. Pennsylvania St., told police a ring set with diamonds and sapphires, valued at S7OO, had been lost or stolen. NO BENDING TO CHIEF WIZARD Voters’ League ‘On Top of World,’ Says Director. "We’re sitting on the top of the world, literally and figuratively; let Hiram Evans come to us,” was the message today from City Clerk William A. Boyce, Jr., a director of the recently-formed Marion County Voters’ League, from headquarters at 1300 City Trust Bldg. The I.eague was formed to fight George V. Coffin, Republican county chairman, against the wishes of Klan Imperial Wizard Hiram W. Evans, who wishes to maintain an alliance with Coffin. Councilman Claude E. Negley, a League leader, said the organization had enrolled 8,000 members. “Clean Politics by Cleaning Coffin” is the slogan. UTILITY TAX TO BE SET During April the State tax board will conduct investigations preparatory to fixing valuations of publiic utilities in Indiana, off which taxes will be paid next year.
