S. H. S. FIGHT TO BE SUBJECT AT FOUR MEETINGS Welfare Body, Labor Union, Civic Group Will Talk It Over. Four meetings,' at which the Shortridge high school relocation controversy will he discussed, will be held next weyk. Indianapolis Public School Welfare Association, composed of patrons and north side residents, will meet Wednesday and rFiday. The association obtained a temporary restraining order before Judge Sidney S. Miller, Superior Court Three, preventing the board from taking further moves to sell the new Shortridge site at Thirty-Fourth and Meridian Sts. and buying another on Forty-Sixth St. between Central Ave. and Washington Blvd. Hearing for a permanent injunction will be March 27. Locations Not Announced The Wednesday night meeting will be held in North Indianapolis and Friday’s meeting will be held south of Fall Creek. Locations have not been announced. Determined efforts to create a membership of 3,000 and present facts for the Thirty-Fourth St. location will be made. Monday /light the Central Labor Union and the Indianapolis Federation of Community Civic Clubs executive committee will discuss the situation. Reports to Be Presented Majority and minority reports will be presented at the union meeting by an investigating committee. Three of the members will submit a report favoring the Thirty-Fourth St. location. A. Leßoy Portteus, civic club organization president, said a general discussion of the site fight will be held. With the restraining order issued by the court the school board will be prevented from taking action at its meeting Tuesday night.

BRIVER TAKEN AFTER CRASH Faces Charges of Failure to Stop. William Elwarner, 664 E. Twen-ty-Ninth St., is under arrest today on charges of assault and battery and failure to stop after an accident. Police say he is the driver of an auto that failed to stop after striking and seriously injuring Nathan Bowman, 71, 1653 Ashland Ave., when he alighted from a street car at Seventeenth St. and College Ave., late Friday. Elwarner was caught by Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Cunningham, 2139 College Ave., who trailed his auto to Sutherland and College Aves. Police are searching for the motorist who failed to stop after striking and injuring Jerry Fisher, 55, Negro, 1522 N. Senate Ave., late Friday, at St. Clair St. and Capitol Ave. Herbert Potter, Beech Grove, Ind., told police he drove his auto into a truck parked at the curb to avoid Ffsher, lying in the street. Pennsylvania St. Mrs. Demarchus C. Clyde I*. Miller Aspiring to the Republican nomination for juvenile court judge, Clyde P. Miller, local attorney, with offices at 801 National City Bank Bldg., has entered the primary race. Miller is a graduate of Indiana University and Indiana Law School and has jtracticed law in Indianapolis twenty-three years. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, Sahara Grotto, Loyal Order of Moose and Methodist Church.

Spring to Come in Sunday, Tra-La And Indianapolis Will Be Glad to It After Cold Six Months.

With little noise or confusion, spring is officially scheduled to steal into Indianapolis at 3:02 a. m. Sunday, when the sun wflll cross the equator after favoring the southern hemisphere for six long months. All • indications are that balmy atmosphere will greet the arrival of the much-desired season, accord--1 ing to Fnited States Weather Bureau officials. ‘‘Fair Sunday with moderate temperature,” reads the forecast. And after a half-year of rain, snow, cold weather and furnace stoking Indianapolis is quite ready to welcome the visitor, whose stay always has been so brief. It's been a pretty hard winter here, bureau statistics reveal. Balanced up. the mean temperature since autumn came in September 23 has been about 11 degrees below normal. The fall started in a bad way. In October the average temperature was 9.1 degrees below normal and it. stayed below normal in November and December. In Januajy, however, it crept up to two-tenths of a degree above normal and in February was 3.5 above, This month, so far, however, there has been a relapse, the mercury having been low much of the time. The lowest temperature for the winter was 7 below zero Dec. 27, and the highest for the last six months was 85 on Sept. 26. Snowfall has been 21.7 inches, just equally the normal. January was the heaviest snow month, with an 8.3 inches fall. CLASS WILL BROADCAST Christian .Men Builders Program on Air Sunday.
