SENATORS FEAR SLAP-BACK IN IMPEACHMENT proceedings Against Judge 9 English May Upset Election Campaigns. Times Washington Bureau, ISiS New York A venue. WASHINGTON, March 12.—For the eleventh time In Its history the House of Representatives may Impeach a Federal judge, and the prospect of sitting for months through an impeachment trial Is annoying Senators who are up for re-election. The House Judiciary Committee, after a long investigation, is expected to recommend that United States Judge George W. English of East St. Louis, 111., be impeached. Because of complaints made against Judge English’s conduct by Representative Harry Hawes of St. Louis and the St. Louis Post-Dis-patch, the House last spring appointed a special committee to investigate. This committee conducted hearings in St. Louis. East St. Louis and Centralist, IIL The committee reported that it found Judge English guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The Judiciary Committee has reviewed the report and is expected in a few days to recommend impeachment. If the House accepts the recommendation English will be impeached
