AUGUST TO SEE START ON NEW RITE CATHEDRAL ✓ Work on $2,000,000 Temple Will Get Under Way This Year. Digging' a hole for the foundation will start late in August and a two ond-a-half-year task of constructing the magnificent $2,000,000 Scottish Rite Temple, towering 216 feet above Meridian St. between North and Walnut Sts., will get well under way before leaves fall off the trees, it was learned today. • Those in touch with building plans revealed for the first time that the huge project will be undertaken this year. Frank Stalnaker, Indiana National Dank president and building chairman, will return from Europe in thirty days and plans for the edifice are to be worked out with the archi- ’ tect who is expecting to deliver them in June or July. Nothing stands in the way of receiving bids and awarding the con* ' tract, on an immediate construction : basis, after the plans are accepted, ■ it is understood. The building, planned to be one of the finest of its kind in America, .will be 300 feet long and 130 feet wide.

LODGES TO BE RAIDED HARTFORD CITY, Ind., March 1. —H. D. Madden, Blackford County prosecutor, today announced proposed raids on the Elks and Moose Lodges and the Blackford and other social clubs, following raids by Mayor D. H. Hollingshead of Hartford City. The mayor raided poolrooms and places having slot machines and card games in progress and confiscated seven tables last night and early today.
