BEAUTIFICATION AT BRIGHTWOOD Park Improvements Planned I by City Board. Plans for beautification of BrightWood Park were approved by the park board, Thursday. An arboretum, in which various kinds of trees will be massed separately, will be established. Development of baseball diamonds, football gridirons and playgrounds is planned. With a system of walks and bridle paths, ample communication facilities will be created. There will be a double belt of drives about the grounds and Rural and Dearborn Sts., will be continued through the park. The land is bounded by Thirtieth and Thirty-Fourth Sts. and Rural and Dearborn Sts. A flower garden at Northwestern Ave. and Fall Creek was approved. Hoosier Briefs \ mOHN HARTMAN was selected as a jury in a Columbia City trial. The jurors were given a five minute recess. When they resumed their seats, Judge Arthur Biggs took a look at the twelve men and asked Bailiff Frank Widup if a substitution had been made. He was told that Hartman had placed a wig on his bald head to protect it from a draft. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Hunter and their small child had a narrow eseat>e from cremation when fire destroyed their farm home near Wawaka. Doss was $3,500. William Bragg at Elwoo'd is bragging for sure. He, is the father of anew baby boy. It was the only boy, too, born on Washington’s birthday in Elwood, this year. Add dangerous occupations: Grape vine trimming. I. N. Hamilton of near Windfall cut his left hand severely -while trimming vines at his home. B"I LOOMINGTON has anew industry, Helen and Emily, little daughters of Allan 'Wylie, are raising pussy willows. The children have four trees at their home. The twigs are out early in the spring and brought out in vases inside the house. They are filling out-of-town orders. The left forefinger of Walter Tomlinson of Tipton was doomed. A week ago, he caught it in machinery at the General Piston Ring AMUSEMENTS
