Luck Counts Says Race Driver
I— OW does a race driver feel H before a big Speedway ___ classic? Tommy Milton, in Indianapolis a few days ago, said they’re not afraid. “If a fellow becomes afraid, he might as well quit.” “But they’re mighty superstitious. We know how much luck enters Into every race,” Tommy remarked. “Have your car in the best of condition, and be as fit yourself as you can, but you’ve got to have the ’breaks’ to be a winner.” Milton ipaid he never gets much sleep the night before a race. “No, it’s not anxiety.” There’s always so much tp be done —a fellow's never entirely ready. The real anxiety comes when you discover a few hours. before a race that something is wrong with your car. I’ve had that happen several times, it’s real trouble,” he said.
