IVI UNCI E-MARION BATTLE FEATURE OF H. S. PLAY Strong Basketball .Clubs Clash in Return Game Tonight —Logansport Invades Frankfort —Other Contests. *

With the field more or less punched Indiana high school basketball teams are swinging into the stretch for the last sprint home. Tonight will see tjie powerful Muncie crew leave its home floor for an invasion of Marion. The record books show kjarion lost to Muncie on a forfeit a few weeks ago, but the fans of both towns remember that on that night the Giants came home with a victory, earned by a margin of just one point. There is every reason to believe that this scrap will be the best of the bunph in the State tonight. Wait ’Till Saturday Martinsville crew does not play tonight, because Glenn Curtis wished to conserve his strength for the test against Kokomo, Saturday. Kokomo and its coach, Chester Hill, have their caps set for a State title. So has Martinsville. On the dope Martinsville is stronger, but in Indiana dope counts little. If Francesconi plays Martinsville may win. If he doesn’t Kokomo has better than an even chance, maybe. While Muncie and Marion are fighting it out, Cliff Wells and his Logansport crew will travel over to Frankfort. The champs are topheavy favorites. Anderson at Bedford Anderson is going to make a bid for fame when it invades Bedford as the under dog. It has been a good long time since Anderson has : been forced to be considered an I under dog to any of them. The scrap carded between Rushville and Blooihington should givs the fans plenty of action. The latter club is capable of giving the best of them a battle. Vincennes swings into action against Technical of Indianapolis at the southern Indiana city. The “Alices” are tough customers down there. Another battle that will give the BUTLER ‘FROSH’ VICTORS Focal Basketball Team Defeats Franklin Yearlings. ' The Butler freshmen basketball team defeated the Franklin yearlings, Thursday night at the Irvington gym, 40 to 28. Butler was in the lead at the half, 23 to IS. White starred for the winners with six field goals and five free throws. Chandler got four from the field. Combs of Franklin caged four two-pointers and Maguire made three. The Baptists were handicapped by the lameness of Wooden who played with an injured leg.
