AUTO CAUSES CHURCH SPLIT Protest Results in Fight— Two Fined. Anew charge, that of breaking up a church congregation, was laid at the feet of the modern automobile, in a case before Municipal Judge Paul Wetter today. ' The car in question was purchased by the congregation of Mt. Zion Negro Baptist Church, and originally registered In the name of the pastor, the Rev. S. B. Butler, it was brought out. In a wrangle to have the car registered in the name of the church, Deacon Robert Harris was excluded from the congregation. At a meeting Feb. 5, Mrs. Bertha Daugherty, 942 W. Twenty-Seventh St., took the part of Harris. Arguments followed and Virgil Cox, 2811 Highland Place, is alleged to have struck Mrs. Daugherty and James Sheldon, 25 W. Pratt St., said to have struck Chris Daugherty, the husband. Cox was fined $1 and Sheldon $5, on assault and battery charges. Several members admitted they no longer belong to the church. Rupture Kills 17,000 Annually Seventeen thousand persons ovei forty years of age each year are laid away—not to speak of countlaea others below that are the burial certihcate being marked “Rupture." Why? Because toe unfortunate ones had neglected themselves or had been merely taking care of the sign (swelling) of the affliction and paying no attention to the cause. What are you doing? Are you neglecting yourself by wearing a truss, appliance or whatever name you choof-s to cull it? At best, the truss is only a makeshift—a false prop against a collapsing wall—and cannot be expected to act as more than a mere mechanical support. The binding pressure retards blood circulation, thus robbing the weakened muscles of that which they need most—nourishment. But science has found a way. and all truss sufferers In the land are Invited to make a FREE test right In the privacy of their own homes. The PLAPAO method is unquestionably the most scientific logical and successful self-treat-ment for rupture the world has ever known. The PhAPAO PAD when adhering closely to the body cannot possibly slip or shift out of place, therefore cannot chafe or pinch. Soft as velvet —easy to apply comparatively inexpensive.
