The Mothers’ Glee Club of the Parent-Teacher Association of School 31 gave a patriotic play, “Scenes Old and New,” at the school Wednesday night, which was repeated for the children Thursday morning. The climax of the play was the presentation by Mrs. Samuel Eaves of the Indiana State flag to Miss Indiana, represented by Miss Elizabeth Williams. *

Marlon County is the only county in the State without a school. Three counties, Randolph, Hancock and Wayne, have but one each. Delaware and Wabash Counties have but two. Carroll County has only four, and Miami County five. The average number of one-room schools per county Is 33.84 per cent. Fourteen abandoned schools were reopened. Seven were In Noble county, two in Vanderburgh, and one each In Franklin, Lake, Montgomery, Morgan and Tippecanoe. The total enrollment In elementary' grades for towuship schools as shown In Sherwood's report is 281,402. Os this number 69,917 are attending one-room schools. Stated in percentage, 30.21 per cent rs children attending elementary township schools in Indiana are Instructed In one-room schools. SON OF KLAN ADVISOR PARK BOARDLAWYER Two Attorneys Take Place of One —Share Salary. Telford B. Orbison, son of. Charles J. Orbison, former Democrat and now legal advisor of the Evaos fiction of the nation'll Ku-Klux Klan organization, today assumed office as park board attorney. To provide a job for the son of the Klan leader, two position were created out of oni. Newton B. McGuire had been legal advisor for both park board and recreation department. The board released Mo Guibe and employed Orbison, after some delay, and State Senator William T. Quillen as recreation department attorney.
