T—,-. STABLISHMENT of a oneIKI n, &ht hotel for needy ex ' * ■ service men in one of the abandoned buildings on the site of the War Memorial Plaza is an undertaking pro- , "mooching” a livelihood, would be limited to a onenight residence. The enterprise would work in cooperation with the regular employment agencies with .a view of finding real work for the down and out war veterans. Frank H. Henley, War Memorial secretary, is preparing to carry out Martin’s suggestion within the next few months, if possible. Other Indianapolis posts are preparing to follow the lead of the John H. Holliday outfit, which discovered housing facilities for privates in these piping days M peace at Ft. Benjamin Harrison consist mainly of shacks, built in .1917 for temporary use. The appeal will be to Congress to appropriate funds for additional permanent barracks'. S. A. Bishop, Seventh district comis preparing a plan fcvhereby all post commanders would lorm a central body, so that Marion County Legion activities may be effectively coordinateed. The organization now suffers from lack of definite responsibility in dealing with the general public. Centralization seems to be the only real solution. Hilton U. Brown Jr. post, led by eager employes of national headquarters, will meet at the Naval Reserve Bldg., 17 E. North St, tonight, Everett Saxton, adjutant, informs us. The Brown post is fortunate in that it received first-hand information of innovations and post-boost-ing activities emanating from national headquarters. Originally organized as a post of newspare men, it now includes members from all walks of life. Grover Workman, national headquarters purchasing department head, is commander. American Legion State headquarters announces July 2, 1926 is Sour Stomach and Gas is immediately relieved by a dose or two of SHAPLEY’S Original STOMACH MEDICINE And do not forget that every dose you take helps remove the cause.
