After twenty-one years of service as a police officer, Patrolman John Hett has presented his resignation to Police Chief Johnson. Hett was reduced from sergeant to patrolman at beginning of the present city administration. During his years as a . he has been cited for bravery twice. Once was about ten years age when he captured two Chicago gunmen who had robbed guests of a Terre Haute hotel of $1,700, although covered by -a revolver in the hands of one. He was also cited whin he captured two burglars who had robbed eight downtown stores singlehanded and disarmed them . Hett plans to retire. He was appointed to the fyce Jan. 20. 1904.
