SECOND RADIO TEST FAILURE (Continued From Page 1) ieard broadcasting band music on l low wave length has been traced |o a small California station which Jailed to observe the silent hour. Sunday evening 2LO, London, England, gave the weather conditions between each musical number, according to a late report just reseived from the international committee. The station signed off with the following weather report: “Weather mild with overcast skies, plight drizzle with coming strong Southwest winds.” This was given Bt exactly 10:58 central standard time, when the station signed off for the evening. A. J. Allen, Indianapolis Broadcast Listeners’ Association secretary, also reported failure on foreign reception. He blamed regenerative sets, static and storms. Weather conditions were worse than Sunday night’s weather, which was clear and cold, he explained. The approaching snow flurry had the same effect of radiating static as a midsummer electrical storm. Allen pointed out that the feeble energy of receiving sets, estimated at one-millionth fly power, was inadequate to conquer the interference of an ocean gale. Official programs broadcast Monday night, as verified by wire for The Times, the official paper in this district, by the international test committee, follow: OAX—Lima Peru, 380 Meters. 10:00 P.
