RECEPTION TESTS National tests of radio reception to determine the causes of static and fading will be held on the nights of Feb. 9, 10 and 11 from 8 to 11 o’clock. The tests will be conducted by the Stewart-Warner Corporation, Chicago, in cooperation with the Northwestern University. There will be more than 5,000 official observation stations taking part in the tests. “AIF. COLLEGE” On Jan. 20 WTIC, Hartford, Conn., will begin a series of talks by Wesleyan professors. All of the talks will be given on Wednesday nights at 9 o’clock, with the exception of one on Feb. 11, which will be broadcast at 7:35. The last talk of the oeries will be given May 12. Started From.” was played in the studio of KFI, Los Angeles, relayed by wire to WGY, here, and sent back where it started from, traveling in ether waves from the Schenectady station. Receptionists in California had the unusual experience of hearing a concert after it had crossed the continent twice.

Proof of this together with photographs and accurate measurements of the mass of celestial bodies that compose it, has been presented by Dr. Edwin Hubble In a study published by the Chicago University ia the Astro-Physical Journal. Dr. Hubble made his observation* from Mt. Wilson observatory. The general appearance of the universe, he states, is like . that of the Magellanic clouds, a mass of nebulae like the milky way in the skies of the Southern hemisphere.
