Bu United Press WASHINGTON, Jan. 21.—Two Western Senators, Capper, Kansas Republican, and McMaster, South Dakota Republican, have indorsed a plan which virtually would convert the famous vessel “Constitution” from a frigate to a prairie schooner. The Western solons have expressed their approval of a scheme to transfer “Old Ironsides,” from Boston Harbor to Yankton, S. D. The historic craft would be maneuvered down the coast and up to the Dakota city through the Mississippi and Missouri Rivters. The transfer, it was said, would demonstrate the possibilities on navigation on the Missouri River and would aid the inland ' waterways program advocated by the Administration. Yankton is located near the head of navigation on the Missouri River. It would also give interior provinces access to the famous craft. A bill to make the transfer possible will be introduced in Congress, it is understood. COUNTRY ROADS BETTER City Dweller Can No Longer Boast to Rural Cousin. Bu United Press LAFAYETTE, Inf., Jan. 21.—The city dweller no longer can boast to his country cousin regarding the superiority of the street over the road. —at least, that was the word that went out from the Purdue road school here today. Howard Olsen, engineer of the committee on highways of the Chicago planning commission, told the delegates at the school that no long er does the motorist heave a sigh of relief when he pulls into town. The sigh, if he heaves one, is likely to be one of disappointment. The majority of the county and State roads are in far better condition than the average city street, the speaker said. I
