BANKERS FAVOR STATEBUREAU ‘Clearing House’ for Criminals Is Proposed. Indiana bankers today gencraky indorsed the proposal of Secretary of State Frederick E. Schortemeter for establishment of a State “clear ing house for criminals,’’ where measurements, records and other data on bandits’ careers will be assembled. Schortemeier addressed the Indiana Bankers Association on the subject Wednesday. Gaylord S. Morse, formerly of Vincennes, financial advertising specialist told the "bankers at their annual banquet Wednesday nigh that local newspaper advertising is a good medium for promoting new business by encouraging thrift. Before adjourning their midwinter meeting, the bankers commended State Banking Commissioner Thomas Barr and his assistant, John E. Simons, on the administrations and adopted a resolution favoring the McFadden bill before Congress which would amend the national banking laws. COUNCIL GETS SUPPORT Survey of Other City Governments Proposed; Program Backed. “Business men are coming to the front to support the ecpnomy program of city council.” Boynton J. Moore, council president, said today. The men say they w r ere near the scene of the murder several hours after it took place. They are held on vagrancy charges under high bond, and will not be released at this time, Kinney said.
